Medical Mission in El Mezquital—a Suburb of Villanueva, Honduras

Another successful project has been completed by Medical Missions Saving Lives in the Central American country of Honduras

In coordination with Ángel Marcial of Guatemala, the Church of God Casa de Fe, pastors, chaplains, medical staff, and volunteers from both MMSL and Guatemala, we offered a Health Clinic from October 23, 2024 to October 28, 2024 in El Mezquital, 12th Street, Villanueva, Guatemala, an area known as the Red Zone.

Villanueva, located in the Cortés department of Honduras in the Sula Valley, includes some neighborhoods that are often described as higher-risk areas because of crime, gang presence, and lingering challenges from past natural disasters. Like many communities facing economic hardship, these areas may struggle with safety concerns and limited infrastructure, which can affect everyday life for residents.

During the clinic, Medical Missions Saving Lives provided services in the areas of Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, and General Medicine to hundreds of people in need. As an underserved community, the residents of El Mezquital often fail to have access to essential healthcare or preventative care—and our faith-based mission is proud to do the work that provides such health benefits to people of all ages.

In addition, our medical team provided free medications, and each participant received a bag containing books, vitamins, pain relievers, hand cream, and prescribed medications. Children also received a toy in their bag, ensuring that they would enjoy this surprise with a smile.

Spiritual support was offered through prayer and counseling, which allowed people to come to the feet of Jesus Christ, because it is through His word that our work delivers goodwill to the people touched by Medical Missions Saving Lives.
